This past week we sent out a save the date for Small Business Saturday. (Which is November 25th, 2023 just in case you needed a reminder.) I wanted to give you all a little more information on what exactly Small Business Saturday is and why we at Standing Ovation celebrate it.
Small Business Saturday is an annual shopping holiday that falls on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the United States. It was first observed in 2010 and is intended to encourage consumers to support small, local businesses during the holiday shopping season. The event was created in response to the Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping extravaganzas, which typically favor large retailers and online stores.
Small Business Saturday is promoted by various organizations, including the American Express company, which has played a significant role in popularizing the event. Many small businesses participate by offering special deals, promotions, and discounts to attract customers to shop locally on this day.
The goal of Small Business Saturday is to promote the importance of small businesses in local communities and the positive impact they have on the economy. It's an opportunity for consumers to show their support for independent retailers, restaurants, and service providers in their neighborhoods and help them thrive during the busy holiday season. Small Business Saturday has become a significant event in the United States, and it continues to grow in popularity each year.
At Standing Ovation, we host our biggest sale of the year on Small Business Saturday and this year will be no exception! Check back later to hear about some of the sales we will be having this year...almost everything will be on sale! We appreciate in advance all of the support we have from our Fort Wayne dancers and surrounding areas. Please start spreading the word and let's make this Small Business Saturday the biggest one yet!
